Electronics Permit and Inspection Certificate

 

To obtain an electronics permit in the Philippines, you'll need to meet the following requirements:

Application form
Signed by the owner or applicant, and signed and sealed by a professional electronics engineer.

Electronics plans
Signed by the owner or applicant, and signed and sealed by a professional electronics engineer.

Notice of Construction
Submitted to the Office of the Building Official before any electronics installation.

Certificate of Completion
Completed by the licensed supervisor/in-charge and submitted to the building official upon completion of the work.

RA9292 Section 29. ... the Professional Electronics Engineer shall be stamped on every sheet/page with said seal, indicating therein his/her current Professional Tax Receipt (PTR) number, date/place of payment and current membership number in the Accredited Professional Organization, when filed with government authorities or when used professionally.

Building permit
A valid building permit is required

Other documents that may be required include:

 ♦ Current professional tax receipt and professional regulation commission ID of the professional electronics engineers
 ♦ Photocopy of valid ID of the owner
 ♦ Notarized authorization letter to transact on behalf of the owner

The work must be in accordance with the Electronics Code of the Philippines and the National Building Code.

Electronics permit is needed before starting any work. Before starting cable installation, the owners, lessors, operators, occupants,or licensed electronics practitioners shall secure electronics permit for the building or premises from the Office of the Building Official. In securing the electronics permit, the services of the Professional Electronics Engineer is required under the law, republic act 9292 or the the electronics engineering law of 2004.

The application upon receipt shall be checked immediately by the Professional Electronics Engineer of the local building office or the representatives for compliance with the requirements. If complying, the Electronics Permit shall be issued upon payment of the corresponding fees.

If the project is extensive and requires more time of checking to met the regulatory requirements, then the issuance of the Electronics Permit need not be issued immediately.

A copy of the Electronics Permit, upon issuance, shall be posted at a conspicuous location at the job site and shall not be removed until final inspection and approval of the work shall have been made.

Enforcement
The Philippine Electronics Codes is intended for a mandatory application by government bodies exercising legal jurisdiction over electronics installation and operation.

A government body, only through a Professional Electronics Engineer, SHALL have the responsibility of implementing the provision of the Code in deciding on the approval of equipment, materials, and installation and for granting the special permission contemplated in the Code where it is assured that equivalent objectives can be achieved by establishing and maintaining effective safety and system reliability.
